The Jethmalani Prize in Journalism, under the Will of Steel Awards, has been constituted to honour the birth centenary year of Shri. Ram Jethmalani. It is fitting that a pre-eminent global award in the field of service that promotes democracy, public good, information, and transparency should be conferred in the memory of a legendary humanist who was a pillar of jurisprudence, governance & democracy.

India is the world’s most populous country, the largest democracy, home to the largest circulated newspapers and the largest number of news channels. Hence, the grandest prize in the field of journalism should have a natural global home in India. Beginning with India, the award will evolve to recognise public service in journalism worldwide.

The prime award is the Jethmalani Prize for Journalism in Service to Humanity, which will carry a purse of ₹ 14,00,000 ($ 17,000), making it the grandest current prize in journalism in India and the world. Two other awards under various categories will carry a citation scroll & purse of Rs. 1,11,000 ($1,400).

Deadline for submission of nominations is 10th September 2023.

રતિલાલ ચંદરયા માતૃભાષા ગૌરવ ઍવોર્ડ | Ratilal Chandaria Matru Bhasha Gaurav Award

ગુજરાત વિશ્વકોશ ટ્રસ્ટ દ્વારા પોતાની માતૃભાષાના પ્રચાર-પ્રસાર અને સંવર્ધન માટે પોતાના જીવનના 26 કરતાં વધુ વર્ષો ફાળવનાર અને ગુજરાતીલેક્સિકોન.કોમના સ્થાપક હૃદયસ્થ શ્રી રતિલાલ ચંદરયાની સ્મૃતિમાં 'ચંદરયા પરિવાર પ્રેરિત શ્રી રતિલાલ ચંદરયા માતૃભાષા ગૌરવ ઍવોર્ડ’ આપવામાં આવશે. ઇન્ફોર્મેશન અને ટૅક્નોલૉજીના માધ્યમ થકી ગુજરાતીલેક્સિકોન.કોમની રજૂઆત વડે શ્રી રતિલાલ ચંદરયાએ સમગ્ર વિશ્વના ગુજરાતી ભાષા ચાહકો માટે જ્ઞાનનો અખૂટ ખજાનો એક ક્લિકે ઉપલબ્ધ કરાવી આપ્યો છે અને આ માધ્યમથી તેમણે ઘણી મોટી સાહિત્ય સેવા કરી છે. 1922માં જન્મેલા શ્રી રતિલાલ ચંદરયાએ માતૃભાષા ગુજરાતીના ડિજિટાઇઝેશન માટે જે અવિસ્મરણીય યોગદાન આપ્યું છે તેની યાદગીરી સ્વરૂપે તેમના જન્મશતાબ્દી વર્ષે એમનાં પ્રિય અને પસંદગીના ક્ષેત્ર એટલે કે ગુજરાતી ભાષા, બોલી, અને/અથવા સાહિત્ય માટે ડિજિટલ ક્ષેત્રે મહત્ત્વની કામગીરી કરનાર વ્યક્તિ/સંસ્થાને આ ઍવોર્ડ આપવામાં આવશે.

જે કોઈ સંસ્થા અથવા વ્યક્તિએ ઇન્ફોર્મેશન ટૅક્નોલૉજી દ્વારા ગુજરાતી ભાષાની જાળવણી કરવાનો, તેને લોકવ્યાપક બનાવવાનો અથવા તો તેનો વિકાસ કરવાનો પ્રયત્ન કર્યો હશે તેમને નિર્ણાયક સમિતિ દ્વારા યોગ્ય વ્યક્તિ/સંસ્થાને આ એવોર્ડ આપવામાં આવશે. એવોર્ડ મેળવનાર વ્યક્તિ/સંસ્થાને 1,00,000 રૂપિયા અને સન્માનપત્ર આપવામાં આવશે

આ એવોર્ડ દર વર્ષે ઑક્ટોબર માસમાં આપવામાં આવશે. જે તે વર્ષે અગર કોઈ યોગ્ય વ્યક્તિ/સંસ્થા આ એવોર્ડ માટે પસંદગી ના પામે તો તે વર્ષે તે એવોર્ડ આપવામાં આવશે નહીં.

નિર્ણાયક સમિતિનો નિર્ણય આખરી રહેશે અને તે દરેકને બંધનકર્તા રહેશે.

એવોર્ડ માટેના નોમિનેશન તા. 23 સપ્ટેમ્બર સુધી મોકલવાના રહેશે. નોમિનેશન માટેના નામ info@gujaratilexicon.com ઉપર સંપૂર્ણ વિગતો જેવી કે નામ, ઉંમર, સરનામું, મોબાઇલ, ઈમેલ, કાર્યની સંપૂર્ણ વિગતો વગેરે સાથે મોકલવાની રહેશે.

In 1928 Ranjit Ram Gold Award was declared. After that was Narsi Mehta Award, Ramanlal Nilkanth Award, Kalapi Award, Premananad Gold Medal Award. Similarly many other awards have been created for Gujarati language.

To celebrate Ratibhai’s contribution for the propagation of the Gujarati language where he spent 26 years of his life to create information technology through Gujarati Lexicon. It will help millions of Gujaratis who live all over the world to look at the Gujarati literature on their computers. Ratibhai was born in 1922 and to celebrate his contribution to the Gujarati language the Chandaria Foundation started the above mentioned Award. It will be given every year to an individual or an organization whose contribution improves and adds value to the Gujarati language through information technology. The value of the Award is Rs 100,000/- plus a recognition certificate and a shawl. A committee will be appointed to select the candidate either an individual or an organization and the decision of the committee will be final.

The nominations received before 23rd September are entitled for the nomination. Participants needs to provide full information ie. Name, age, address, mobile number, email address, work with reference etc which will be provided to Gujaratilexicon team on info@gujaratlexicon.com
