My Experiments With Science ||||| Pravda Pandya

Respected team of VASCSC,

My entire interest in science developed only because of VASCSC. Thank you for showing me how fascinating the world is from a scientific point of view. You also taught me to question how and why of things. I hope you continue to inspire many other students just like me. This was my last year and it really gives me a feeling of nostalgia whenever I go back and think about the years I spent there. So you see, this is what you did extremely well. You gave me so much to remember, not just about science but also about learning. Your green and vibrant campus is just what a student needs.

Furthermore, portraying science through models and activities is so unique. It makes the topic you're studying so much more interesting. There hasn't been a single session I didn't learn anything in VASCSC.

All I request you to do is continue your SSF programme till twelfth! So that we can continue coming regularly.

Everyday, every session, every concept, every model and every teacher of VASCSC continues to live in me.

Regards,
Pravda

When Venus, Jupiter, and Saturn wave at me

- Pravda

It was a beautiful without sun morning. My alarm exactly rang at 3:40 AM. I woke up and I was very excited about seeing Venus, Jupiter, and Saturn from a telescope. Vishnubhai Patel - a science teacher at Kumar Vinay Mandir, Gujarat Vidyapith was giving us a chance to view the three beautiful planets. Vishnubhai is my papa's friend.

I woke up, had a bath and headed to Gujarat Vidyapith with papa. Papa also showed lots of enthusiasm and curiosity in the sky watching programme. We reached at Vidyapith at 4:45 AM. Vishnubhai was showing the planets in the play ground of a school campus at Gujarat Vidyapith.

The first planet I saw with the help of a telescope was Jupiter. Fortunately we could see Jupiter’s Planet. I could see Jupiter’s 3 beautiful Galilean moons out of the 4 that exist. When I placed my eye at the eyepiece of the telescope I was gobsmacked. The planet was bright and beautiful. One thing I noted after seeing the planet multiple times in the telescope was that the planet along with earth is moving. So according to whichever planet you are viewing after a period of time you have to move the telescope itself.

The second planet we viewed was 'the ringed planet'. You may have guessed that I am talking about Saturn. Undoubtedly it was spectacular, when I viewed the planet the rings of it were looking like handles around the planet. I viewed Saturn almost 7 times because how many ever times I looked at it I was not getting satisfaction.

The without sun morning was slowly becoming the with sun morning, some light slowly made its way to earth. But with this Venus rose in the sky. We all could now view the planet named after the Roman goddess of love and beauty obviously. I am talking about Venus. Venus looked awesome, when I viewed it from the telescope and it was moving a little bit so Venus was looking like an earthworm in the sky.

It was a wonderful experience to see Venus, Jupiter, and Saturn with a telescope. This day of my vacation was meaningful.

MY FABULOUS, FANTASTIC, AND FAVOURITE FRIENDS

- PRAVDA

LAMP WHEN DARKNESS SURROUNDS ME. SUPPORT WHEN FAILURE PUSHES ME AND SELFISH WHEN SADNESS EATS ME, YOU KNOW WHY SELFISH, BECAUSE YOU ARE ALWAYS WILLING TO SNATCH MY SADNESS AND GIFT ME WITH LOT OF HAPPINESS. WE ALL ARE UNITED AND CAN DO WHATEVER WE WANT TO “TOGETHER.”

THOSE EYE-WATERING JOKES AND THOSE BODY SHIVERING HORROR MOVIE TRAILER TALKS. I HAVE MISSED 2 LONG MONTHS. WITHOUT MY SMILING CLASS EVEN 2 MONTHS WERE AS LONG AS 2 YEARS.

HOWEVER, WHEN I REMEMBER YOUR RIB-TICKLING JOKES I START LAUGHING, EVEN AFTER HEARING THE SAME JOKE 100 TIMES I LAUGH THE 101TH TIME AFTER REMEMBERING IT. YOU KNOW WHY I SAY FRIENDS ARE MORE THAT GOLD COINS BECAUSE I CAN AFFORD TO LOSE GOLD COINS BUT NOT FRIENDS. GOLD COINS CAN PLEASE YOU BUT CANNOT SATISFY AS FRIENDS DO. WHENEVER MY STRENGTH BENDS THE FIRST WORD I SAY IS FRIENDS. GOLD COINS ONLY SHINE BUT FRIENDS ENSURE THAT YOU ARE FINE.

GOLD COINS ARE TEMPORARY YOU SPEND THEM AND THEY ARE GONE BUT FRIENDS ARE PERMANENT THAT LEAVE AN IMPACT ON YOUR HEART, MIND AND BODY BEING ALWAYS YOUR BUDDY. THAT'S WHY I TELL YOU THAT FRIENDS ARE MORE THAN GOLD COINS BECAUSE THEY ARE FABULOUS, FANTASTIC, FAVOURITE AND LASTING FOREVER.

ALWAYS KEEP THEM CLOSE TO YOUR HEART, OR JUST INSIDE YOUR HEART SAFE AND PROTECTED BECAUSE NO ONE CAN HARM THEM INSIDE OF YOUR HEART.......

MANGOES : A TREAT, YOU’D REPEAT

- Pravda

Photograph : Dr. Ashwinkumar / છબી : ડૉ. અશ્વિનકુમાર

Like the English saying goes “An apple a day keeps the doctor away” but according to me “A mango a day keeps the doctor away” Since toddlerhood my favourite fruit has been mango. I like mangoes in whatever form you serve them to me. May it be mango smoothie, shake, pulp, pickle or mango mouth freshener, even raw mango with chilli powder and salt would be marvellous. Even if you enjoy it in it's pristine form you will be exalted. What else can you expect from a fruit- it is sweet, rich in taste, should be nutritious and easy to procure. Mangoes fulfil all these criteria: It is sweet, rich in taste, nutritious and easy to procure. Have mangoes on a hot summer day, l promise you will revel in them......

“Live with less facilities”

- Pravda

Photograph : Dr. Ashwinkumar / છબી : ડૉ. અશ્વિનકુમાર

I asked my maternal grandfather Ratibhai, “What life lesson do you want me to learn? He said I want you to live with less facilities.” “Why do you want me to live with less facilities? I asked. Because if you have less facilities you can adjust anywhere with anything. He said with a beautiful smile on his face. I learnt a valuable life lesson from my grandfather.

A book-reading with my Grandfather

- Pravda

My paternal grandfather Dahyabhai and I were sitting on a swing and reading a book called 'Kokesasno kedi'. It's a book originally written by Tolstoy, and translated by Jitendra Desai in Gujarati.

My grandfather loved to read and he was trying to develop an interest for reading in me. He was reading the book so nicely, slowly, and calmly. He was reading each and every word clearly. That day I enjoyed the art of book-reading with him.

IF I GOT THREE WISHES TO ASK WHAT WOULD I ASK FOR?

- Pravda

Firstly, I would like all the countries of the world to get united and not fight among one another but instead help one another.

Secondly, I would like each human on this earth to be honest, hard working, helpful, smiling, respectful and keep a very good time management.

Thirdly, I would like poverty, selfishness and dirtiness to go away from this earth and make earth clean, green, pollution free and a very healthy place for each creature (including humans) which lives on mother earth.

My each wish is for the citizens of earth.

I wish that all my wishes come true one day.
