" ... यह अनुभव हो चुका था कि चम्पारण में महिलाएँ जितना परदा करती हैं उसमें उनके बीच बिना महिला कार्यकर्ता के काम करना मुश्किल होगा। और गांधी तब तक कस्तूरबा को काम पर लगा चुके थे। सफाई तथा स्वास्थ्य के मामलों में महिलाओं को ज्यादा मदद की जरूरत है। पर तब तक कस्तूरबा ने साझा रसोई का पूरा जिम्मा अपने ऊपर ले लिया और सभी कार्यकर्ताओं का खाना-पीना एक साथ शुरू हुआ। इससे तत्काल छुआछूत और जाति-धर्म के दिखावटी भेद मिटने लगे। औरत के समाजिक काम की हिस्सेदारी का प्रत्यक अनुभव गांधी के सभी सहयोगियों और चम्पारण के लोगों को हुआ। ..."

બીમાર હોઉં તો શું ?
એક જણ મને જણાવે છે કે બ્રિટિશ બ્રૉડકાસ્ટિંગ કૉર્પોરેશન એવો સવાલ પૂછી રહી છે કે, હું બીમાર અને પથારીવશ છું ત્યારે સામે આવી રહેલી અહિંસક લડતને દોરવાની ઉમેદ કઈ રીતે રાખી શકું છું? એ ખરું. પણ દાક્તરોએ હજી મને એટલો બધો બીમાર જાહેર કર્યો નથી. મારું શરીર અત્યંત થાકી ગયેલું હોવાથી તેમણે મને આરામ લેવાની અને પંદરેક દિવસને માટે વધારે ઠંડી જગાએ હવાફેર માટે જવાની સલાહ આપી છે. આરામ મેળવવાને માટે તો હું મથી જ રહ્યો છું. પણ કેટલીક વાર કર્તવ્યનું ભાન અથવા કહો કે દિલનો જોશ અથવા મારો મોહ મને આરામ લેવા દેતાં નથી. પણ મુદ્દાની વાત એ છે કે, જ્યાં સુધી મગજની શક્તિઓ સાબૂત છે ત્યાં સુધી શારીરિક માંદગી એ અહિંસક લડતની દોરવણીને માટે અંતરાયરૂપ નથી. અહિંસક આચરણની પાછળ એક એવી અફર શ્રદ્ધા રહેલી છે કે સર્વ પ્રેરણાનું મૂળ ઈશ્વર જ છે અને તે પરોક્ષ ઈશ્વરનું દર્શન અથવા અનુભવ અજેય શ્રદ્ધા વિના થઈ શકતું નથી. તે છતાં એક સાધક અને સત્યના પ્રયોગ કરનાર તરીકે હું જાણું છું કે શરીરની માંદગી અથવા થાક પણ અહિંસક આચરણ કરનારને માટે ખામીરૂપ છે. સત્ય અને અહિંસાના ભક્તો ‘તંદુરસ્ત શરીરમાં પૂર્ણ આરોગ્યવાળું મન વસે છે.' એ સિદ્ધાંતને અક્ષરશઃ સ્વીકારે છે; પરંતુ એ તો પૂર્ણ મનુષ્યોને માટે કહેવાયેલું છે. મને એનો ખેદ છે કે હું તો હજુ એ પૂર્ણતાને ઝંખતો છતાં એનાથી ક્યાંય દૂર છું.

- ૩૦ એપ્રિલ સુધી ઓનલાઇન અરજી કરી શકાશે.
- પ્રવેશ પરીક્ષા GEETA ૧૧ મેના રોજ રાજ્યનાં ૩૦ સ્થાનો પર યોજાશે.

આજરોજ ગૂજરાત વિદ્યાપીઠ દ્વારા શૈક્ષણિક વર્ષ ૨૦૨૪ માટેની પ્રવેશ કાર્યવાહી જાહેર કરવામાં આવી છે. ૧૪ સ્નાતક, ૩ સ્નાતકોત્તર, ૧૯ અનુસ્નાતક, ૫ અનુસ્નાતક ડિપ્લોમા અભ્યાસક્રમની ૧૮૮૨ જેટલી બેઠક માટે માટે પ્રવેશ કાર્યવાહી હાથ ધરાશે. ઉમેદવારે પ્રવેશ માટે ઓનલાઇન અરજી કરવાની કરવાની રહેશે. અરજી કરવાની છેલ્લી તારીખ ૩૦/૪/૨૦૨૪ છે.
પ્રવેશ સમિતિના સંયોજક પ્રો. અજય પરીખે માહિતી આપતાં જણાવ્યુ હતું કે, ગૂજરાત વિધાપીઠના તમામ અભ્યાસક્રમોમાં પ્રવેશ પરીક્ષાના આધારે જ પ્રવેશ કાર્યવાહી હાથ ધરવામાં આવશે. ઉમેદવારે યુજી/પીજી માટેની સીયુઈટી પરીક્ષા અથવા ગૂજરાત વિદ્યાપીઠ દ્વારા નિર્ધારિત કરેલ GEETA (Gujarat Vidyapith Eligibility and Efficacy Test for Admission) બંનેમાંથી કોઈ એક પરીક્ષા આપવાની રહેશે. વિદ્યાપીઠ દ્વારા પરીક્ષા આગામી ૧૧/૫/૨૦૨૪ના રોજ રાજ્યનાં ૩૦ કેન્દ્રો પર લેવાશે.
પ્રવેશ પરીક્ષા ૬૦ પ્રશ્નોની રહેશે જે માટે ૯૦ મિનિટ નિર્ધારિત કરવામાં આવી છે. કસોટી સામાન્ય જ્ઞાન, ભાષા, તર્ક અને ગાંધીજીની સંક્ષિપ્ત આત્મકથા જેવા વિષયવસ્તુ આધારિત ઓએમઆરથી લેવામાં આવશે. કસોટીનું પરિણામ ૧૬/૫/૨૦૨૪ના રોજ જાહેર કરવામાં આવશે. સીયુઈટી અને GEETAના ગુણાંકને આધારે મેરિટ યાદી મુજબ પરામર્શન અને પ્રવેશ કાર્યવાહી ૨૪ થી ૨૬ જૂન, ૨૦૨૪ દરમ્યાન યોજાશે. તથા નવું સત્ર ૧ લી જુલાઈથી શરૂ થશે એમ શ્રી પરીખે ઉમેર્યું હતું.

રમેશ બી. શાહ (૧૪-૧૧-૧૯૩૬)
જન્મ : ૧૪મી નવેમ્બર, ૧૯૩૬, દેત્રોજ. અર્થશાસ્ત્રના નિવૃત્ત પ્રાધ્યાપક છે. તેમણે પ્રાધ્યાપક ઉપરાંત લેખક, પારિભાષિક કોશકાર, અનુવાદક અને સંપાદકની વિધવિધ ભૂમિકા ભજવી છે. રમેશભાઈએ દેત્રોજમાં પ્રાથમિક શિક્ષણ અને અમદાવાદમાં માધ્યમિક અને ઉચ્ચ શિક્ષણ મેળવ્યું. ૧૯૬૧માં અર્થશાસ્ત્રમાં પારંગત થઈને હરિવલ્લભ કાળીદાસ વિનયન કૉલેજ, અમદાવાદમાં અધ્યાપક તરીકે નિમાયા. તેઓ ૧૯૯૭માં સેવા-નિવૃત્ત થયા.
રમેશ શાહે કેટલાંક પાઠ્યપુસ્તકોનું લેખન કર્યું છે. તેમણે ખ્યાતનામ અર્થશાસ્ત્રી ડૉ. ડી. ટી. લાકડાવાલા સાથે ‘આંતરરાષ્ટ્રીય અર્થશાસ્ત્ર' નામનું પાઠ્યપુસ્તક લખ્યું છે. જે પારંગત કક્ષાના વિદ્યાર્થીઓ સારુ સમજસભર સ્રોતપોથી છે. રમેશભાઈ ‘ભારતીય અર્થતંત્ર' (જ્ઞાનગંગોત્રી શ્રેણી, ગ્રંથ-૨૮)ના એક સહલેખક છે. તેમણે ગુજરાતના શિક્ષણ-જગતને અર્થશાસ્ત્રના 'પારિભાષિક કોશ'ની ભેટ ધરી છે. રમેશ બી. શાહ સરદાર પટેલ આર્થિક અને સામાજિક સંશોધન સંસ્થાન (એસ.પી.આઈ.ઈ.એસ.આર.) દ્વારા પ્રસિદ્ધ થતા અર્ધવાર્ષિકી 'માધુકરી'ના સહસંપાદક તરીકે ૧૯૭૪થી સેવારત છે.
રમેશ બી. શાહે ઉચ્ચ શિક્ષણના પ્રશ્નોની ચર્ચા કરતા 'દૃષ્ટિ' માસિકના સંપાદક તરીકે લગભગ પંદર વર્ષ સેવા આપી છે. તેઓ ગુજરાતી ભાષાના આદિસામયિક 'બુદ્ધિપ્રકાશ'ના સંપાદક તરીકે કાર્યરત છે. તેમણે 'મુંબઈ સમાચાર', 'ફાયનાન્સિઅલ એક્સપ્રેસ' જેવાં દૈનિકોમાં કતારલેખન કર્યું છે. તેઓ ‘ગુજરાતી વિશ્વકોશ'ની પ્રવૃત્તિઓ સાથે પણ સક્રિય રીતે સંકળાયેલા છે.
રમેશભાઈએ વિવિધ સમાચારપત્રોમાં અને વિચારપત્રોમાં પ્રસિદ્ધ થયેલા તેમના લેખોના સંચય થકી આપણને 'બૌદ્ધિકોની ભૂમિકા અને બીજા લેખો' (૨૦૦૪) જેવું વિચારપ્રેરક પુસ્તક આપ્યું છે. આ પુસ્તક લેખકો, પત્રકારો, અધ્યાપકો, કર્મશીલો સહિતના બૌદ્ધિકોને સમૃદ્ધ વિચારથાળ પૂરો પાડે છે. રમેશભાઈ સામાન્ય વિચાર-ધારાથી સાવ જુદો તર્ક એવી રીતે રજૂ કરે છે કે એ તર્કથી સાવ જુદી વિચાર-ધારા પણ છેવટે તેમની સાથે સંમત થાય છે.
રમેશભાઈના જીવન ઉપર વિનોબા ભાવે અને કિશોરલાલ મશરૂવાળાના કવનની ઘેરી અસર છે. આ બંનેના સાહિત્યના વિશેષ વાચનથી રમેશભાઈની લાક્ષણિક વિચારશૈલી વિકસી છે. રમેશ બી. શાહે ‘વિનોબાની વાણી' (૨૦૦૮) નામના ગ્રંથનું નમૂનારૂપ સંપાદન કર્યું છે. રમેશભાઈએ ‘હિન્દ સ્વરાજ' : અહિંસક સમાજની દિશામાં (૨૦૦૮) પુસ્તિકા થકી ગાંધીવિચારની મૌલિક રજૂઆત કરી છે.
